Stale Information
« on: 12-08-2009, 15:09:44 »
Hi,

I've been having trouble with uploaded file corruption on mediafire (their uploader and FIU so not your fault) and I started looking at the "File Hosters" list to check out alternatives.  Looking in to them, I found several items that were incorrect for their currently published features.

Here are the differences to what was listed in FIU:
  • 2shared - 100MB size limit
  • 6giga - 100MB / 750MB size limit
  • dataup.to - 20 / 30 days storage
  • ezfile.net - 30 days / forever storage
  • filefront - 600MB size limit
  • filesdump - dead
  • filezzz.com - 10GB single file capability
  • gettyfile.ru - dead
  • letitbit.net - 7 days
  • megashares - 15 days
  • milledrive - video sharing only
  • uploadengine.net - dead
  • uploadbigfiles.net - dead
  • uploadstube.de - 150MB
  • youload.to - this is really duckload

Hope this helps!

those informations are not up-to-date ... I can't check every server every day ;)

could you extactly tell me what is wrong?
uploadengine.net - dead ... yes, it is really dead ??? I don't understand, why you write it in your list ...
dataup.to - 20 / 30 days storage ... yes, the storage time is written on their page like this
etc.

So can you explain what is wrong for example on those informations? :D

Hi,

I think maybe we have some misunderstanding?  The list I made in original post contains the information that I found when I looked at the services yesterday.  The information that I give is what was different from what FIU currently lists.

For example, 2shared says max file size is 100MB.  FIU says 2shared max file size is 1GB.  Uploadengine.net seems to be dead, but it's listed in FIU under file hosters.    I thought I was doing you a favor listing all the corrected information.  Do I really need to list out what FIU currently says for every entry in my list?

No, you don't understand me :D

In FIU the uploadengine is marked with "not working", so I don't see any problem ;)

You do me a favor, thanks for it ... but
you should tell me which are wrong and why, I am not going to update that list as it is wasting of my time ;)

eg. why 6giga is wrong???

I sure hope there's a misunderstanding.  I misunderstood the "Status" column.  I thought "not working" meant that FIU's upload capability for that service was known to be broken.  I didn't know it meant the website was dead.

Regarding, for example, 6giga you have listed a max file size of 1GB.   The 6giga website says that the max file size is 100MB for free user or 750MB for premium user.

I guessed you didn't want to regularly troll the whole list of websites, so I thought giving you a list of the changed services would help.  If you don't want to update FIU's built-in list, that's fine.  My bad.

Yo, we don't understand each other at all!!!

1) the list is just for information only, I add host new items when I add host
2) I dont update the list as I dont have time to check each host every day
3) I update it if someone tells me that there is something wrong
4) you told me, something is wrong, I checked it and I didn't find the problem

Got it? ;)
