Z-o-o-m allows people to find out the MD5 of files from their RS links. What do people use this information for?

I assume you cannot change the MD5 of files which have already been uploaded to the rapidshare server, so what do people do with it.

Sorry, you misunderstand. z-o-o-m already can find the MD5 of a file from it's rapidshare link:-

I just do not understand why people would need to know what a files MD5 is. I posted hoping to learn more :)

You need this so you can verify if the file on your disk is the same as the file on the server without having to download the whole thing. Which is exactly what I need to do now and how I found this thread.

My question is, how do you bring up that "RapidShare MD5" window?

Never mind, that was easy. Just Tools->RapidShare MD5.

That is VERY useful by the way, as I don't think you can even get an exact file size for RapidShare files to compare an existing file against. MD5 is much more reliable then doing that anyway.

Please maintain this feature in future versions.
