So how do I determine my buffer size, timeout, and try count for maximum benefit? I have broadband, but I cannot figure out the statistics to what would assist me to the best effect and faster uploads without problems.

example:
if your total upload speed is 1MB/s (not 1Mb/s ...), and every upload goes max. 300kB/s,
you should set it to 256 :)
if you want to upload just 1 file which goes 1MB/s, set it to 512 :)
it should be a little bit less than speed of one upload :)
you can test it ... set it very low and watch the speed, set it high and watch it ;)
