LOL my thoughts exactly.
Well from now on I will just keep a backup of the settings file if it happens again. Now if I can just figure out why my
Netload files keep failing I"ll be good to go.

Thank you again!

Yes I did that. The permissions are all fine on the .nast file.
This has happened several time to me in the past.
I ended up deleting the file and restoring a backup file that I made several weeks ago.
What I did was copy the settings file and named the copy "FileUploader5.nast.BK" so
when the file gave me the error I deleted it and just removed the .BK extension and it
now works fine. I uploaded yesterday to the latest version and things are still ok.

Still not sure why this keeps happening though.

Mine used to open to the "Files" tab too but it now always opens to the "News" tab. Is there a way to correct this?

EDIT: I closed FileUplaoder down and re-opened it and was given this message:

The permissions are all correct for the settings file. Now every time I open the program it reverts back to it's original
installation settings.

no, usually it opens the Files tab ... unless I force to show News

I apologize I should have been more clear. I don't want the tab to disappear. Every time I open the program
instead of having the "Files" tab open the "News" tab is always open showing a message about Hotfile.
Before the last update it would stay open to the Files tab or whatever tab was the last one chosen.
I guess you could say that whatever the last tab was being used would be the default tab open the
next time the program was open.

About a month ago I ran into a problem while updating. I was told that the file FileUploader5.nast was read only and could not update.  I checked the file permissions and everything seemed fine. I ran the update again and once FileUploader ran none of my settings were there. I re-configured the program how I had it but now the News tab is always shown. I have unchecked the box "Show NEWS" but it is always shown. Am I missing something?

Thank you for a great program.
