Stupidly slow internet when uplaoding
« on: 12-05-2014, 13:47:53 »
Hi,

I am on 50Mbps download capable broadband with a 3Mbps upload capability.

This is my normal result:

The problem I am facing is whatever the file/s size/s & whatever storage site/s I send a file/s to and whatever buffer speed I have the settings at in the program set to, It slows my internet down to a stupid speed.

This is the result when uploading a file:

I cant understand why the program affects the internet so badly.

Can anyone help out please?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
this is really difficult to say. It depends what kind of connection it is.
As program uploads as fast as possible, it can take whole bandwidth of your connection.

Do you have any antivirus, firewall or such? What buffer size do you use?
How many files do you upload at the same time?
When you upload via browser, is there any similar issue?

I've never known an upload to affect your download capability to the extent it is. :(

I use Avast antivirus and Zone alarm firewall.

Firewall is set up to allow zoom.

I have tried every buffer setting size and get similar results.

I normally have the setting to allow parallel of 8 files.

Similar result but not as bad when using a browser.

Checked the settings in my virgin media superhub 2 and cant see anything there slowing it down :(

Well, my program does not affect downloading. It is some system issue.
Or you have half-duplex connection or wrong data cable (your computer can either download or upload, not both together - one is blocking the other operation).

You have to compare uploading only 1 file via browser and then again 1 file in my program. If it is similar.
Also consider uninstalling antivirus and firewall. Test it again and then reinstall it. There might be some broken system libraries.
